Franz Ferdinand es una banda de rock de Glasgow, Escocia. Formada en 2001 por Alex Kapranos, Bob Hardy, Nick McCarthy y Paul Thomson.

A pesar del poco éxito de su primer single "Darts of Pleasure"; la banda consiguió el éxito en su álbum debut Franz Ferdinand lanzado en 2004, que alcanzó el número 3 en el chart britanico y ganó un premio de Mercury Music Prize de 2004 y dos Brit Awards en 2005 para Mejor Grupo Británico, entre otros.
